Here is an example of suicide that I WOULD subscribe to.
In my late teens and twenties I did alot of rock and mountain climbing up here in the North Cascades. My best friend and I talked about what happens if one of us falls and in doing so presents a neccessary choice to the other climber and himself that would involve "cutting the rope".
If I was climbing lead and fell and did so in a way that it would be impossible for my friend to save me and in attempting to would most likely get killed it would be my responsibility, if I could, to "cut the rope". That would be easy. A harder one would be if I was unconscious and he had to cut the rope.
I suppose all of this is going over your head because Facists don't care about anyone but who thier Furher tells them to.

Sincerely apologize to anyone who has actually served this country. I certainly didn't mean to imply that anyone who has served was cowardly. What has my jaw locked is the people on this board who constantly call Democrats cowards if they oppose this war. I am certainly down on the people who talk a big line, but refuse to enlist and back their views and words up with ACTIONS.
To those of you who "called me out", I have been shot at before, numerous times .... don't want to go there again! I doubt you do either if you have actually been in that situation, so your words are taken with a grain of salt.

From my experience, there are no liberals, conservatives, or anything else in battle, there are only buddies you rely on to protect your butt, and you protect theirs ... at all costs. When the proverbial sheet is hitting the fan, everyone wearing your uniform is your buddy, and you don't think nor care a bit what his politics is ... you simply care that he cares.

I am not a FAN of anyone who intentionally avoids service to his country, whether it is in peacetime, or during a conflict. I believe if we want to reap the rewards offered by citizenship in this country, we owe it to our nation, our flag, and our fellow citizens to volunteer to do our part to defend it. PERIOD ... no exceptions, no excuses, no partisanship ... PERIOD!
If you espouse a belief in something (such as many do on this board relative to the war in Iraq), and then find a lame excuse why your particular talents are better served by STAYING HOME, in my opinion, you aren't much of an American, much less a Patriot. This applies to liberals, conservatives, and now, with gender equality ... both women and men. I believe all who love this country, will serve, or I simply don't, won't, and can't believe they sincerely love it.

I have very little doubt that this administration will find a way to make this a national security issue in time of war no less, and find a way to avoid any responsibility!
