| My wife and I are planning our 1st trip to Canada and to see NF. Is there any "special" unforseen problems crossing the border that you could share that we might have missed, outside of passport, drivers license, ect.? Thanks

Shouldn't be. I mean as long as you are not bringing things like drugs or guns, or have a criminal record there shouldn't too much of a problem, just don't bring anything that might pose a problem like some meats, alcohol.
You'll probably have a harder time getting back to the US then into Canada if anything.

If you cross through Michigan, they require birth certificate and driver's license at the bare minimum. Passport requirements were set to begin in a couple years, but I've heard they may push that back a year or two.
All of Michigan's crossings, however, are very busy at most hours, so timing your crossing is more important than anything.
