Our group is planning our trip to Ixtapa. Can someone tell us is Simon still bartending at the Dorado Pacifico Hotel in Ixtapa. He is our favorite bartender of all. We missed going last year and want to know if he is still there. Please reply

Was there this past March 2005, staff has moved around and some left. No sign of Simon.
Having visited the Dorado nearly every year since 1987 we have never been disappointed until 2005. We found the grounds, room & hallways, pool & area, and outdoor restaurants not well maintained, especially the pool & area - simply dirty. But the worst was; the Front Desk customer service (an oxymoron). When reviewing our final there was a strong & rude reluctance to remove overcharges (not our room number, name or signature on ticket). The front desk Nazi refused to remove an overcharge (approx. US $6.00) small overcharge but the manner we were treated was unbelievable! We received the rudest treatment from Alma Delia and Eul Ano - both front desk staff. Our friends who traveled with us were treated worst! Next return visit to Ixtapa we'll stay next door at the Krystal or other hotel. Never again the Dorado.
