| they are a group of scammers doyle. they go around asking for pple's details and what happens is they will steal your identity (they ask for a copy of your licence and/or passport) and probably rob you of all the money you have in your account (through your card details). so i advise you to stay away really.

Spam is spam.. via snailmail or the net. delete or tear-up this lotto spam is the best advice available, plus warn those around you of this scam.

I haven't exactly been victimized....thankfully! Though my hopes did get lifted and then crashed! This is the first time I have ever experienced anything like this, so I wasn't sure how to react! I received a message on my mobile informing me that I had won US$ 1,000,000/- and I was given an email address and a phone number in Spain! I called the number and I was advised to send my passport copy by email to the address mentioned along with my mobile number attentioned to a Mrs. Lisa Diago, which unfortunately I did! I received a response almost too soon after that, confirming yet again that I had won the said amount! There was a long letter in which they spoke a lot about some legalization process and that I was supposed to forward EURO 2,000/- to them for the leaglization procedure! I was supposed to send them the money by Western Union (which now I understand meant that there would be no way to track them down)! There was no mention of a website and their email address was madridoffice_madridoffice@yahoo.com! I was told to contact a "Barrister Mark Anderson" who is supposedly their Head of Legal Department! His number is 0034626833994! I called him and he too confirmed that I have won the lottery and to send the 2,000/- EURO's to process the legalization procedure and that the winning money would be forwarded to me within 48 hours of completing the legalization! Luckily I checked the Internet and found out that this particular scam has been making its rounds for quite a while! I did not send them the money nor any details of my bank account! However, I am a bit concerned that they have a copy of my passport! I'm just wondering whether there is any cause for me to worry about this! I would appreciate it if somebody could reassure me on this! Thanks!

I am in London. I also received the same letter from International Lotto Commission today, telling that I had been awarded 915,810 Euro from "La Primitiva Lottery Promotions Program New Year Highstake" with showing a lot of realistic-looking reference numbers, etc., and that the money had been already in Banco Santander Madrid Spain.
As I had never bought or registered to lotteries, I was wondering what this was. Then, I checked the sender's address on the google map, and checked if any website was available for this agent Don Luis Mark's company "Divine Seguros Comp S.A.", but did not seem to exist.
Also I checked the Banco Santander Madrid Spain where they said the fund was deposited. The Banco Santander exists and their service included Lotteries. But Banco Santander Madrid Spain didn't look being there. In the list of the various lotteries, there was "La Primitiva". It sounded similar but, in that real program web site, no lottery had been held on the date the letter said. And those luckey numbers did not match any, either.
At the signature section on the bottom left, the name Antonio Garcia Pearl was printed with the title 'ICE PRESIDENT, LOTTERY AWARD BOARD.' Width for the title must be too short for 'V'. And that Antonio Garcia Pearl's signature paste was handwritten "Ellen Marq XX(couldn't read)."
Bandits should be more artistic.
Everybody, let's not be cheated.

I received an identical letter today as the one described. I thought it must be a scam as the old saying is true- if it appears too good to be true, then it probably is. I'm glad I trusted my instincts and checked the 'net first before replying. Hope that no one out of desperation has fallen for this one or sent all details/money. If no-one falls for it then they're out of business.

| I have recently been bombarded by a group of scammers from Ghana, Africa(Ivory Coast). They said that they had found me in a London database. then they began calling me on my cell phone number. These people are dangerous and clever. i saved every e-mail in a fraud folder and 2 days before I was going to fax them to the proper authorities, They had completely disappeared from my computer.

Hi to all
My name is Jarmine and I'm from Aruba the caribbean.
I also received a letter telling me I won EU 710.350,00 in cash accredetited to my tickt number ?? (I didn't buy any ticket). This came from All Lotto desk mng director and sign by Jose Miguel Fernandez clamming to be director of this company.
I call the number 00 34 699 830 824 ext 25 to contact claim agent Dr. Toni Rubio foreing operation mngr of LIBERTY SECURIDAD E.S. in Spain.
The First: thing very strange is that it was a cellphone/mobile telephone in Spain Second: It needed no extesion number to get to Toni Rubio (he himself answer the phone) Third: He inmediately told me to fill in the fax format and send this to him and he will call me back to give further instructions. I got suspecious and talk to frieds about this. They didn't like this bussiness and we decided to look for more info about this lotto on the net. We Google the name mentioned and didn't find anything like it. We went to the Spanish Yellow and White pages and nothing. Then we found this site.
We kept looking and found this that might be interesting:
http://www.consumeraffairs.govt.nz/scamwatch/prizelottery.html
http://onlae.terra.es/indexp.htm it is in spanish you can get it also in English:

IMPORTANT WARNING
Loterías y Apuestas de Estado (LAE) would like to inform the general public that a number of groups of criminals of various nationalities are using the prestige and the commercial names of the Spanish Lottery by fraudulent means in several countries. They move easily around the whole world and use mobile telephones, PO boxes, provisional or false addresses (including real addresses of official Spanish organisations), as well as names that bring to mind prestigious institutions ("el Gordo", la Primitiva", "European Lottery Commission", etc.) They also forge the printed sheets and signatures of various banks or insurance firms.
In order to carry out the fraud, the procedure that is generally followed consists of informing the potential victim that they have been the lucky winner of a substantial prize (even if they have not participated in any draw), although they cannot collect this prize until they have paid an amount going towards the taxes, bank costs, delivery costs or insurance processing, etc. Usually, the fraudster warns their potential victim that the deadline to pay these charges is very soon and that their right to collect the prize is about to expire.
Loterías y Apuestas del Estado, that is, the Spanish Lottery, wants to inform very clearly the following:
1. To win a prize of the Spanish lottery is essential to have purchased previously lottery or bets of our range of products.
2. Spanish lottery prizes are always free of taxes and burdens.
3. When you are offered “prizes” that seem to be linked to the Spanish Lottery, DO NOT PAY ANY AMOUNT. We are, in all probability, before a criminal fact that must be reported to the authorities. The Spanish Police has already arrested and subjected to legal procedures some of the members of groups who were operating from Spain.
4. If you have any question, please contact:
sugerencias@loteriasyapuestas.es
I hope this will help more people as it help me. Knowing that They at least are doing something with this people and that more and more people are taking actions in this matter!!!!!
Greetings
Jarmine
