I'm new to this forum and looking for information on spending a week or two in Cabo San Lucas. Is there a general place to look for restaurants, points of interest, etc? Is Pueblo Bonita "in town" - walking distance from many things.
Info from BCN is that everything is extremely expensive throughout the area, food, entertainment, etc. -- but don't know what extremely expensive means.
Any help would be appreciated - thanks

Welcome Bajagal! I am new myself.
When you speak of Pueblo Bonito, yes, it is in town, but there is Rose, Blanco and Sunset Beach. The latter of which is just 'up the hill' from town. All of the Pueblo Bonito's are awesome. The Rose and Blanco are on the most popular beach, Medano.
As far as expense, yes and no. What are you used to? If you are used to New York, no, it is not. If you are used to Yourtown, USA, then yes.
I would plan on $100/day for misc. expenses; whether it be cervezas/lunch at the beach all day or breakfast in the room/lunches and dinners out/cocktails in the room/going out. That pretty much explains it all.
The M.C. that was at Giggling Marlin left and the new replacement is not as good, but it is still a good time. There are typically no cover charges, though. There are also some new and upcoming hot spots that your concierge/bell boy will know about. Lots of fun places along the Marina and that whole front area as well as Squid Roe of course. Love Shack is always a great place. Cabo Wabo is overrated. The Hippo Bar, the Jungle Bar and the Nowhere Bar are also great places that are underrated.
The key is to economize. To cut costs, you can dine in your room and pre-func in your room. THAT will cut costs immensely. If you stay out of town, you WILL need to rent a car or your dinero will be eaten up by cabs. Believe me, I have rented a car countless times down there as a flight attendant and have even gotten into a car accident. If you rent a car on a gold card, especially AMEX and waive the coverage, you are fine. When I got into the accident, AMEX totally covered me.
If you have any other question, let me know. My husband is from there and we recently moved up to the states. I am American.

| Thanks so much for the info -- it was really helpful. "mytown" is in Mexico, and it isn't as it use to be -- but you can always find good, little out of the way places with great food and prices. We save the biggies for Vegas. Thanks again - looks like we'll be going for a week in April.
