I'm having all sorts of fun learning - even though my main triumph at the moment is being able to ask my guy (in Danish) to be a sweetie and make me a cup of tea
He's also having lots of fun trying to get me to say things that seem fairly unpronouncable - or that no lady should say in the first place - EVER!
One tip I did find though - was that the d (as in Rød) sounds like an 'l' to most English ears - so when I try to say it back to my guy, it's always wrong. Since then I have learned that if i try to say 'dh' for the 'd' sound (regardless of what it sounds like when he says it) it seems to come out right!
Good luck!

| From the look of it, Danish seems even closer to English than German is to English.. and grammatically simpler than German too. Last edited on Mon Sep 15th, 2008 07:06 am by Pseudo-Soviet Dictator
