People purchasing land on the east side of Cozumel will not be able to build anything. Those lands will not be granted construction permits, according to Sr. Sergio Soria X., Director of Urban Development. This has been under investigation since last year because estates have been divided into hectares and sold, but the buyers have not been informed that they can only build a one-room cabin per four hectares. Those who have purchased less than that will not be able to build anything.
