Homeless Man Wanted for Arson at Restaurant
Jul 31, 2008

Police issue an arrest warrant for a homeless man in connection with a fire at a new downtown Cincinnati restaurant.

Investigators say 43-year old Paul Mizell set fire to Bootsy Collins and Jeff Ruby's new night club last week. The club is under construction on Walnut Street, across from the Aronoff Theater.

Jeff Ruby tells Local 12 lighter fluid was poured on recipes for potential menu items. No one was hurt. Police have not said what evidence they have against Mizell or what motive he may have had for setting the rie.

Mizell was recently seen in Washington Park and near the Roebling Suspension Bridge - on the Ohio side.

Homeless man pleads not guilty to arson

Bay City News

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- A transient accused of starting a three-alarm grass fire that burned more than 7 acres near Half Moon Bay in June pleaded not guilty this morning in San Mateo County Superior Court.

The defendant, Michael Denone Taylor, 47, is charged with one felony count of causing fire to a structure or forestland. He is ineligible for probation because he has three prior offenses, according to the district attorney's office.

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office received reports of black smoke near the 12000 block of San Mateo Road in the Spanish Town area around 4:50 p.m. on June 10.

The blaze grew to three alarms and burned between 7 and 10 acres in the hills near state Highway 92 along the eastern edge of Half Moon Bay, fire officials said. The fire was controlled around 8 p.m. that day.

No property was damaged and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, according to the sheriff's office.

Taylor was reportedly living in a nearby homeless encampment. He was arrested for a probation violation unrelated to the fire and was later interviewed regarding the blaze, according to the sheriff's office.

He allegedly gave inconsistent statements about how the fire started and was arrested on suspicion of arson, according to the district attorney's office.

Taylor was on probation for prior acts of vandalism, the district attorney's office reported.

Taylor remains in custody on $50,000 bail and is set to return to court Oct. 20 for a pretrial conference.

NoteWas there any incident of fire in your neighborhood?

The Vice President of the Union Rescue Mission made $124,950

Now that is good money.

Maybe I should start my own Homeless Mission, make myself an officer, then pay my self $125,000 a year while watching these homeless criminals get a couple of crums that I handout.  They are greatful for the couple of crums while I make $125,000 a year.

Click on the link below to find out the details about how much the Union Rescue Mission make and what kind of benefit the gangs at the Mission get in compensations.

What's your point? I think it's common knowledge that a high percentage of the homeless are in need of mental health care/institutionalization. Many states no longer have social programs for the mentally ill.

Corection:
The Gross is $53,343,000, not $49,387,000.  Go to the above link on page 1, Line L

The officers make $146,514 plus benefit of $11,653 total to $158,167, not $124,950.  Go to the above link on page 33 & 34.

It is the top employees that make $124,950, not an officer.  Go to page 9.

Your hard earn dollars at work for the homeless.

I think I will start my own Beggar Clan.

Oh please do so. It is obvious, when reading you, that this is your dream career. Stop envying beggars now, be one of them! Ambition and action my friend! You're not a lazy ass, i can tell; you can do it! Take a coat though: these days it's a bit cold. Well, over here it is.

This first article you quoted contains some pearls. This, for instance i simply love:

"Alcoholism and drug abuse are the result of individual choices such as a willingness to sacrifice career, family, and health in favor of getting high. Human beings are capable of both good and bad decisions, but no matter which road is taken, responsibility must always be assigned to the individual choice-maker."

I know it's hard work, but if you support such claims too, you may want to get informed.

The whole article does not rise much above this quotation; the others don't either. I may bother to discuss them very soon.

And if you read the article Homeless Advocates Must Face Facts you would know that only 15% of the homeless are legitimate homeless.  The other 85% are criminals or insane people that should be in jail or a sanitarium that is running around out there.

I have a problem with your claim, especially what you say about "criminals [...] that should be in jail". Let's read the article and focus on what it says about this:

"Advocates and the media neglect to tell us that seven out of ten homeless have been institutionalized at one time or another; this includes mental hospitals, detoxification centers, and prison."

" seven out of ten homeless have been institutionalized at one time or another; this includes mental hospitals, detoxification centers, and prison."

" a 1986 study conducted by the National Bureau of Economic Research found that 61 percent of homeless' jail time occurred before their homelessness."

Homeless people who once committed a crime and went to jail have already served their prison sentence. What do you make of them? Bring them back to jail?

Click on the title of the article and it will link you to the website.  Then take a look at the picture.  Doesn't the carjacker look like he is part of the Beggar Clan?

The victim looks like a good target for the Beggar Clan.  Easy Money for the Beggar Clan.

I guess with people being aware of the Beggar Clan tactics and are fighting back, a 62 years old woman look like a much better and easier target.

Well , there is one good thing to say about the Beggar Clan.  They aren't stupid.

Good Samaritan carjacked at O.C. offramp

Monday, March 23, 2009

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. (KABC) -- A woman was violently carjacked Friday in southern Orange County. A man slammed a 62-year-old woman's face into her steering wheel and then forced her to drive off. Authorities are looking for the suspects.

The 62-year-old victim had just gotten off the 5 Freeway, stopping at a stop sign, where the suspect approached her car. She was trying to be niceand helpful, but it ended up a kidnapping and robbery.

The victim described the man who kidnapped her to police, and a composite sketch of the suspect was produced. He had dark shaggy hair and a long, scruffy beard. Authorities say he knocked on the woman's passenger-side window when she pulled up to a stop sign at the offramp of
Avenida Calafia, off the southbound 5 Freeway in San Clemente.

"He was asking if she knew where he could get something t

The suspect pretended he couldn't hear her and got her to roll down her window all the way.

"He unlocked the door, jumped in the car, slammed her head against the steering wheel and ordered her to drive away," said Amormino.

The suspect forced her to drive around for several minutes. The victim noticed a light blue car following them.

"The suspect ordered her to pull over, he then robbed her of all her personal belongings, cash, purse, laptop computer and cell phone," said Amormino. "She then noticed the suspect get out of the car, jump in that light blue sedan, both suspects drove away."

The suspect car is described as an older model, possibly a four-door American sedan, faded oxidized blue. The last two digits on the license plate number are "5" and "8."

"That's terrible, especially an elderly lady, it's scary," said motorist Lindsay Bourne. "It's scary as a female driver."

"I'm surprised that the lady let him in the car, but maybe she's a super nice lady trying to help him out and then he, I don't know ... it's ridiculous," said San Clemente resident Hans Nusslock.

The incident happened Friday about 2 p.m., not far from the beach in what is normally a quiet community.

"Extremely trusting, everybody is so friendly in this whole area that yeah, I can definitely see how she you know could be taken by somebody like that," said San Clemente resident Rose Bradley.

The suspect is believed to be in his 40s, 5 foot 7 inches tall, weighing about 160 to 180 pounds.

Fortunately the suspects did let the victim ago and except for a bruise on her forehead, authorities say she is physically going to be OK.

The victim did not get a good look at the suspect who was driving the blue vehicle, but if you've seen the suspect who kidnapped her, or that vehicle and you saw what happened, call the Orange County Sheriff's Department

Homeless Man Bludgeoned to Death in Echo Park
KTLA News

May 3, 2009

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Police Sunday were asking for the public's help in finding whoever bludgeoned a homeless man to death in Echo Park Saturday morning.

A passerby reported the body in the doorway of a business in the 500 block of Glendale Boulevard around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

A tree planter had apparently been placed over the dead man's head, but it was unclear if the planter was the instrument of death.

According to Los Angeles Police Department official, April Hardin, the victim appeared to have been "viciously struck in the head with a blunt object."

An autopsy was pending.

Police have not yet been able to determine who the victim was, as he carried no form of identification on him.

He is described as having been a Hispanic man with black hair and brown eyes, between the ages of 40 and 50, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighing 170 pounds.

Maybe he tried to mug someone and they beat his ass to death and left him there. According to the post about Echo Park, I assume this would be the likely scenario.  If that is what happen, then I don't blame the guy.  He has the right to self defense.

People jog in the park at night! I remember as kid that was the last place you would ever want to be at night. I myself jog there... but I always carry a blade. Some homeless guy tried to mug me on Echo near Sunset, tried is the word. It's still a dangerous neighborhood, but in comparison to what it was 6 years ago it's night and day. It's nothing like 90's. It's going to get better. What happened to Venice is happening to Silverlake and Echo Park, 6 to 10 years from now everything will be different... gentrification. By than I probably won't be able to afford to live there anymore. If you grew up in LA than you know what Venice was like in the 80's and 90's. Culver city used to be mess too.

Just wanted to mention that charities are bipartisan and blind to political views, so this would have to be a huge conspiracy if so many people are in on it. ;)

The report below shows that 50%-65% of the Kitten Hurricane Refugees had a criminal background.  Yet the Citizens of Red Stick take Arms in defense against the Kitten Hurricane Refugees.

Yet 67% plus of the Homeless in the City of Los Diablos have criminal records.  But the citizens in the City of Los Diablos are oblivious to the danger to their children, themselves and their residence.

The above shows how strong is the propaganda machines of the homeless advocates,  homeless missions and the beggar clan in the City of Los Diablos.

Gomer

Note:  Gomer comment is only for the City of Los Diablos and the Kitten Refugees.  Any similarity with any other city or hurricane is just a coincident.

U.S.: The Potential Backlash Against Hurricane Kitten Refugees

September 26, 2005 | 2317 GMT

Authorities in several U.S. states are reporting that background checks performed on Hurricane Kitten refugees have turned up a high number of people with criminal records, including records for violent crime and sex offenses. In Lulu’s capital city, Red Stick, meanwhile, authorities reported that the crime rate spiked among the refugee population as some 120,000 hurricane victims poured into the city. Having witnessed televised images of post-hurricane looting and general lawlessness in Old Orleans -- and fearing the worst – Red Stick residents began arming themselves, snapping up the entire supply of guns and ammunition at some local gun stores within days of the refugees' arrival.

With more than 1.2 million people displaced by the hurricane from the Old Orleans area alone, the full social, political and economic implications of this major population shift will play out over the long term. Should the communities -- most of which mounted major relief efforts on behalf of their new residents in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy -- begin to witness notable increases in crime, or possible changes in the political landscape, the atmosphere could easily turn from welcoming to antagonistic.

The statistics are sobering. In South Carolina, authorities performed background checks on all 457 refugees flown into the state, turning up 301 with criminal records. In West Virginia, which received approximately 350 Kitten refugees, state police found that roughly half of them had criminal records, 22 with a history of violent crime. Criminal background checks run on refugees in Massachusetts turned up six sex offenders and one individual wanted in Lulu on rape charges. In Texas, where 250,000 to 300,000 refugees received shelter in Houston, Austin, San Antonio and the Dallas-Fort Worth area, authorities have run more than 20,000 criminal background checks on the refugees, turning up many with criminal pasts, including violent crimes and sex offenses. From Texas, thousands of refugees were dispersed to other states, some as far away as Utah. As the refugee population disperses, it is possible that individuals with criminal records will be sent to other states -- and some may resume their criminal activities.

Before Hurricane Kitten, the Old Orleans population totaled about 485,000 -- 67 percent Blue and 28 percent Pink. Furthermore, according to the latest census figures, 28 percent lived below the poverty line. The city's homicide rate stood at approximately 10 times the U.S. average.

Many of the Old Orleans residents who lacked opportunities before the storm likely will want to stay in the communities where they have been relocated. Sources report, however, that many of the communities that have seen a sudden, large influx of refugees have expressed apprehension about the possibility that the out-of-towners will constitute an undesirable or dangerous element, especially in light of the looting that gripped ld Orleans immediately following the disaster. This concern is being exacerbated by the numerous Pink-supremacy groups that are spreading negative rumors about refugees and posting racist rhetoric on their Web sites. By exploiting fear and uncertainty in these communities, many Pink-supremacy groups could expand their memberships.

Lulu, meanwhile, faces a potential shift in voting patterns as a result of this mass displacement. Many of the poor inner-city citizens who traditionally vote Democrat are now living outside of the state, a situation that could give the Republicans inroads into those areas where they previously had little influence. Daisy Duke, a controversial politician from Old Orleans with ties to the Pink supremacist movement, won 43.5 percent of the vote in his 1990 race for the U.S. Senate. With a change in political landscape, he may be encouraged to try again.

The effects of the population shift caused by Hurricane Kitten -- some of them profound -- will be felt over time. With possible increases in crime and changes in the political landscape, the host communities could witness a backlash directed at the refugees.

Recession, Budget Crisis and the Dangerous Beggar Clan in Los Diablos

Summary

The recession and Budget Crisis is putting the risk of insolvancy in the State of Fornication. As a result the Governor is threatening budget cut in many area of our social system. One of the area that is of the most concern express by law enforcement in the news is the release of many criminals from our prison system before their time. Law Enforcements usually have the scoop on what is going on thus the concern about the early release of criminals from our prison system should be a concern for everyone.

Analysis

The world wide recession caused by the fraudulent practice of the financial industry is affecting everyone including the state of Fornication. As a result the governor of the state of Fornication, The Terminator, has promise to terminate many social programs including the early release of criminals from our prison system. This is of great concern in regard to our safety.

Ten of thousand of criminals will be release into society without any resources for these criminals. And especially with the economic crisis there will be very little social program available to these criminals. As many are being use by citizens who are down on there luck.

As such many of these criminals will be roaming the street homeless looking for opportunities where they can prey on the citizens of Los Diablos.

As noted by tactics used by the beggar clan on previous reports, there are many more tactics that was not mentioned. And with the new released to join the beggar clan, many of the tactics used by the beggar clan will now be employed in greater numbers.

As noted previously, tactics of harassment, rouses to con people to give them moneys, assaults and robberies will increased in frequency if the Terminator releases criminals of our prisons early.

But the minor offense of trespassing & breaking and entering will also increased. But is this minor offense really harmless?

Homeless people tends to trespass onto abandon properties and use it as a place of residence. But they will also trespass into residence that is occupied. This act usually done with the assistant of higher ranking member of the beggar clan. Higher ranking member of the beggar clan are not homeless but as part of the beggar clan, they will takes care of their own. They are the brain of the organization.

With the help of the higher ranking member of the Beggar Clan, homeless members of the beggar clan are able to break into occupied residence without any evidence of breaking and entering. Simple techniques of Lock bumping and duplication of the residence keys without the occupant knowing it allow access to the residence with ease.

The member will usually enter the an occupied residence when the occupant is out to work. Summer is the most frequent of this offense because of the summer heat. While the occupant is at work, member of the beggar clan will enter the residence to hide from the summer heat. Large number of the beggar clan can occupied the residence during this time. By the time the residence return back from work, homeless member of the beggar clan will have left the residence minute before they return.

But is this simple act of trespassing harmless?

It is not as harmless as it seems. Many of the homeless member of the beggar clan are filthy and disease ridden. When they occupied the residence to hide from the extreme of the environment, the communicable diseases they carried can be pass onto the residence without them knowing where it comes from.

Thus it is recommended that the residences of Los Diablos takes extreme security measure to secure their residences. Especially singles who works. And married couples without children who both works at the same time. But this precaution should be taken by anyone, whether married or single, that leaves their residence unoccupied for extended period of time in the City of Los Diablos.

Police say LA teen tried to use ATM, called parents to get money before she was killed

ROBERT JABLON | Associated Press Writer

4:53 PM CDT, July 27, 2009

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The last hours of Lily Burk's life were spent trying to get money for a kidnapper who finally beat the 17-year-old to death and left her body in her car in a downtown parking lot, police said Monday.

Burk was found dead Saturday in her black Volvo. A 50-year-old parolee, Charlie Samuel, was booked Sunday for investigation of murder after fingerprints in the car linked him to the killing, Deputy Chief Sergio Diaz said at a news conference.

Samuel was arrested a half-hour after the killing — and before Burk's body was discovered — for an unrelated drug crime. Police said he also has a previous criminal background, but did not provide details.

Samuel remained jailed Monday. It was not immediately clear whether he had a lawyer.

The teenager crossed paths with "one of these monsters that unfortunately we have living amongst us," Diaz said.

Burk, who was about to begin her senior year at Oakwood School in North Hollywood, left her Los Feliz-area home Friday afternoon on an errand to the downtown Southwestern University School of Law, according to police and neighbors.

She went to pick up exams for her mother, Deborah Drooz, 54, who is an attorney and an adjunct professor at the school. About 15 minutes after she arrived at the school, Burk was approached by a man and abducted, Diaz said.

The teen and her kidnapper then drove to an automatic teller machine where she tried several times to get money, according to a police statement. The attempts failed because her credit card was not set up to be used as an ATM card.

Over the next hour, Burk called both of her parents to ask how to use the card and was told by her father that it could not be used at an ATM, police said.

"She didn't tell them that she was in distress," Diaz said.

She said she needed money to buy shoes and was told to come home, her parents told the Los Angeles Times.

"Burk then made arrangements with her father to go to their home to pick up an unspecified amount of money," the police statement said. "She never made it home."

About two hours after Burk was kidnapped, Samuel got out of the Volvo and left it in a downtown parking lot, with Burk's body in the passenger seat, Diaz said. Burk suffered head injuries, apparently from striking the passenger side of the windshield, and there were signs of a struggle, according to police.

Less than a half-hour later, Samuel was seen drinking beer on a Skid Row street and arrested for investigation of possessing narcotics paraphernalia because he allegedly had a crack cocaine pipe, Diaz said. He was still jailed when Burk's body was found.

"We are grateful that the police apprehended someone so quickly and that this man is off the streets," said a statement issued Monday to KTLA-TV from her mother and her father, Los Angeles Times freelance music writer Gregory Burk.

"The thing we want people to know about Lily is that she was a beautiful person and that she was looking forward to her life. She was funny, warm, kind and empathetic. She was deeply and widely loved," the parents said in an earlier statement.

Samuel, originally from San Bernardino County, was in Los Angeles to complete a program he was ordered to take as a parole condition for previous crimes, police said.

"We believe he's not homeless, he has a place to live," police spokeswoman Officer Rosario Herrera said. She did not know where he lived, however.

"We believe he's not homeless, he has a place to live,"

Your belief don't have a leg to stand on.  But from the evidences, I am 99.999% sure that he is a skid row bum.

Sure he has a place to live and just happen to be hanging around skid row drunk while the police officer pick him up.  Those who believes that, contact me as I have a few bridges, volcanos and land on the moon, mars, venus and other planets& moons within our solar system I want to sell to you.

Update in regarding to the killing of the 17 years old teen.

It seems she was buying into the propaganda regarding the homeless.  It was told that she even volunteer to help the homeless.  I assume it would probably be at one of the Homeless Mission that she volunteer.

She probably think that she has nothing to worry about the homeless since she volunteer at the Mission.  Little did she know that she is exposing herself to a population where 2 out of 3 are convicted criminals.

Most likely she probably was not even on her guard when she see the homeless who kidnap her, rob her and kill her.

One of the peril of buying into the homeless propaganda.   Death.

Homeless Parolee Charged with Murder of Los Feliz Teen

By EGP News Service

July 30, 2009

A parolee was charged Tuesday with murder, kidnapping and robbery in the slaying of a 17-year-old girl whose body was found in the passenger seat of her car near Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles.

The murder charge includes the special circumstance allegations that Charlie Samuel, 50, murdered Lily Belle Burk during the commission of a kidnapping and robbery, which could make him eligible for the death penalty if convicted.

Samuel was also charged with one count each of kidnapping to commit robbery, second-degree robbery and attempted first-degree automated teller machine robbery.

Prosecutors said Samuel had a 1987 robbery conviction from San Bernardino County and a 2006 conviction from Van Nuys for petty theft with a prior. He made his first appearance Tuesday afternoon in a downtown Los Angeles courtroom in connection with the killing.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Henry J. Hall ordered Samuel to remain jailed without bail pending arraignment on Aug. 20.

The evidence against Samuel includes video surveillance, forensic evidence and statements, said Deputy District Attorney Truc Do.

Burk, a student at North Hollywood’s Oakwood School, left her home in Los Feliz about 2 p.m. Friday to pick up some papers for her mother, a law professor at Southwestern University School of Law in the Westlake area.
Samuel is accused of abducting Burk as she was about to get into her parked car near Wilshire Boulevard and Wilshire Place at about 3 p.m. Friday, police said.

Samuel used Burk in several unsuccessful attempts to get money from a downtown ATM, according to LAPD Deputy Chief Sergio Diaz, who said there was no indication that the suspect was armed.

Between 3:35 and 4 p.m., the teenager called each of her parents, asking how to get cash using her credit card at an ATM. Her father told her that the credit card could not be used at an ATM, and she did not tell them she was distressed, police said.

According to police, Burk made arrangements to go to their home to pick up an unspecified amount of money, but she never made it there.

Shortly before 5 p.m., Samuel left the black Volvo in a parking lot at 458 S. Alameda St., with Lily’s body in the passenger seat, Diaz said.

Signs of a struggle were found in the Volvo, and detectives said the girl had suffered head trauma. Her body was found in her car around 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Samuel was arrested at 5:25 p.m. Friday on suspicion of drinking in public and carrying a cocaine pipe. But after fingerprints taken from Burk’s car linked him to the girl’s death, Samuel was booked Sunday night on suspicion of murder, police said.

Lily’s parents reported her missing Friday night.

Samuel was in Los Angeles to complete a court-ordered program as a condition of his parole from an earlier conviction for theft, according to police.

In a statement released over the weekend, Burk’s parents said, "The thing we want people to know about Lily is that she was a beautiful person and that she was looking forward to her life. She was funny, warm, kind and empathetic. She was deeply and widely loved.

"Lily was looking forward to going to college, to being a writer, to what was ahead," they said. "She had a really bright future and it was cut short."

The Los Angeles Police Protective League issued a statement saying the case was "an unfortunate and horribly tragic example of why the LAPPL has vehemently opposed the early release of prisoners and minimizing the seriousness of parole violations as a means of reducing the state budget deficit.

"This is precisely the type of ‘low level’ parolee the state no longer wants to take responsibility for," according to the police union.

Homeless Propaganda

Summary

It has been noticed that there is a homeless man who camp out right in front of the Loyalty Law School that is 3/4 miles from the Cereal Center in the City of Los Diablos.  He has his clothings and homeless items right across from the entrance and exit of the Loyalty Law School.  Most people see this as an example of the economic situation of Los Diablos.  But an observant person should be able to see beyond this.

Analysis

As notice, this homeless person camp out right across from the entrance and exit of the Loyalty Law School.   He sleep there at night as he has no place to stay since he is homeless.

But this is odd.  There are so many place where a homeless person can sleep where he can get some privacy & rest.  And yet he pick spot that has the most traffic area where it is guarantee that he will not have any privacy or peace.  And the people at the Loyalty Law school just drive in and out and ignore him.  No one seems to do anything as they are usually too busy to stop and pay much attention even if they do notice him.  What purpose does it serves to this homeless man to be right across from the entrance and exit of the Loyalty Law School?

It seems this is the Beggar Clan strategy to  promote the Homeless Propaganda.  And what better way to promote it than to impress upon these Lawyer of all the homelessness out there.  Everytime these Law Students enter and exit the school, they will be reminded of the homeless.  And when and if they do graduate and become Lawyers, as not all students become lawyers, they will think of the homeless men outside the Loyalty Law school.  And when they become a successful Lawyer, they will pass down the Homeless propaganda to their children.

Lily Burk was an example of the passing down of the Homeless propaganda.  She really bought into the Homeless propaganda.  Unfortunately she pay the ultimate price for buying into the Homeless propaganda, DEATH.

The Homeless propaganda exist in the city of Los Diablos.  But it can also exist in the city that Lily Burk lives in.  And it can happen in your city also.

Beware of the Beggar Clan and the Homeless Propaganda.

He is an interesting article today about Elizabeth Smart who was kidnap & rape by a homeless transient in 2001.

Her description of the homeless transient as "Evil, wicked, manipulative, stinky, slimy, greedy, selfish, not spiritual, not religious, not close to God.", which I consider words of wisdom.

Kidnap victim Elizabeth Smart recounts rape ordeal
The American student Elizabeth Smart has, for the first time, described her nine-month kidnap ordeal after being snatched by a stranger from her bedroom in Salt Lake City seven years ago.

Taking the stand for the first time Ms Smart, now a 21-year-old college student, testified yesterday that her captor had raped the then-14-year-old three or four times a day, kept her tied up with a cable around her leg, and threatened to kill her if she tried to escape.

Asked by a prosecutor to describe Brian David Mitchell, the self-described prophet accused of holding her captive for nine months, Ms Smart replied: "Evil, wicked, manipulative, stinky, slimy, greedy, selfish, not spiritual, not religious, not close to God."

Ms Smart gave her horrifying account in federal court as part of a proceeding over whether Mr Mitchell is mentally competent to stand trial.

The 55-year-old one-time street preacher has been behind bars since 2003 — mostly in a state mental hospital — but has yet to stand trial. Twice he has been ruled mentally incompetent in state court, and he has often demonstrated bizarre behavior, including incessantly singing hymns in the courtroom and once yelling at a judge to repent.

Ms Smart testified that within hours of her 2002 kidnapping at knifepoint, she was led away to a secluded mountain campsite and in a quickie ceremony became the polygamous ‘wife’ of the older man.

"After that he proceeded to rape me," Ms Smart said, sharing for the first time publicly her account of the ordeal.

She said Mr Mitchell showed her pornography and plied her with alcohol and drugs to lower her resistance to his sexual advances. Once, Ms Smart said, she tried to fight Mr Mitchell off by biting him.

On the stand for nearly two hours, Ms Smart was poised, her voice never wavering. She did not come face-to-face with her alleged tormenter. Mr Mitchell was removed from the courtroom for disruptive behaviour — singing hymns — before Smart arrived, and watched the proceedings from a holding cell.

A federal judge ruled earlier this week that Ms Smart's testimony is relevant to the question of Mr Mitchell's competency. The competency hearing is not set to begin until November 30, but Ms Smart testified early because she is going on a religious mission for the Mormon church in Paris.

Ms Smart's parents and other family members were in the courtroom to support her. Her father Ed Smart had already heard much of the story but said later outside court he had learned a few new details. He did not elaborate.

"She actually wanted to face him," Ed Smart said. "She asked if he could be muzzled and sit and watch."

He praised his daughter's composure.

"I was absolutely amazed at her strength," he said, his eyes teary. "I don't know how she could have done a better job than she did."

Ms Smart was just 14 when she was abducted from her bedroom in the middle of the night. In a surprising turn that transfixed the country, she was rescued in March 2003 after a motorist spotted her walking the streets of a Salt Lake City suburb with Mitchell and his wife, Wanda Eileen Barzee.

Ms Smart testified that in the days immediately following the kidnapping, Mr Mitchell held her captive with the help of a 10-foot cable bolted to her leg and tethered to a line stretched between two trees. She said Mr Mitchell threatened to kill her if she yelled or tried to get away.

Ms Smart said Mr Mitchell would rape her three to four times a day. There was some respite — usually when Barzee became upset over Mr Mitchell's relationship with the teenager — but it never lasted, Ms Smart said.

Mr Mitchell is charged in state court with kidnapping and sexual assault. Last year, he was indicted on federal charges of kidnapping and transporting a minor across state lines. In both the state and federal cases, experts have split over his competency.

Mr Mitchell's lawyers maintain he is incompetent and suggested that evidence of his delusions can be found in his religious rambling and writings, including a 27-page manifesto he called ‘The Book of Emmanuel David Isaiah’.

Ms Smart said he read from the book repeatedly during her captivity, often sang hymns and laced his conversations with religious language. Throughout her captivity, Ms Smart was forced to wear a white, ankle-length robe, a head scarf and two veils across her face.

"He told me he was a prophet," Ms Smart said under cross-examination by Mr Mitchell's lawyer. "He said he was the voice of God on Earth and that he would reign over God's children until Jesus came."

But she also said his religious revelations seemed to come only when he wanted something, or when he was trying to calm Ms Barzee. Ms Smart said she believed Mr Mitchell always knew that he could be punished for her kidnapping and understood how the court system worked.

She said he gave her an alias — Augustine Marshall — and told her what to say to police if they were ever questioned. He also bragged about skirting previous accusations of sexual abuse and fooling others, Smart said.

Never in nine months did Mr Mitchell appear confused or out of control, Mr Smart testified: "He was a very capable, intelligent human being."
