New to Forum, just wanted to introduce myself properly!

Mykolas to my LT brothers and sisters, Mike if you prefer. Just a poor working class fool with a passion for my LT heritage and LT friends. Wife dosen't understand my love of LT and she's a native! Don't live in an area with many LT's So I place high value on my freindships  with a handful of native LTs.

Been interested in LT history, culture, society, folklore, art , cuisine for as long as I can remember. My dog prefers Svyturys Alaus. I stand behind Birzietciu.

Been there a few times. And wish I were there now.

That's all for now...looking forward spending a little time with everyone.

Thank you!...

Wasn't expecting to hear from anyone so soon. So, what brings you to this particular forum?  Lithuania is a given...any particular interests?

I'm not from Lithuania, Mykolas. I merely saw your posting; that's all.
Well; much has changed in the Baltic States; for the better, I'd say.

Yes, much has certainly changed. I'm optomistic about what the future holds for them. Have a few close contacts over there, friends and family. Some feel down - trodden yet others have seen tremendous improvements over-all.

I can see that you are a moderator, I did that once at another forum based community. Too many people out to incite others so I flipped the off switch and discontinued the forum.

Do you have ties to LT?

I'm just a simple MOD (User Sail) on some fora here; no Super-MOD. Just trying to help a bit, to keep things within a specific framework of rules, to make the bulletin boards more surveyable & enjoyable for all of us.

No; I do not have any ties whatsoever with Lithuania as such. Would like to learn more about the Baltic States. Knowledge = Power!   :)

I feel the same way about knowledge. My LT grandfather often said "Learn everything you can...because knowledge isn't a burden carried on your shoulders...it's an asset you carry in your mind"

So, what spurs your interest in the Baltics? Most people can't even locate the Baltics on a map!

I'm generally interested in other cultures / countries; not the Baltics specifically.

Your Grandfather was right, as regards commanding knowledge!   :)

Well; let's hope, that more folks find this thread, and will contribute some postings.

I can see that the traffic is somewhat sparse.  That's not unusual. Most people just pop in with a specific question about genealogy or are looking to find a lost friend.

The powers that be don't realize that by prohibiting members from posting links to other sites they also effectively put severe limitations on the prospects of attracting new members.

A perfect example of this is my own site. Other owners that agreed to share reciprocal links with me have benefited from my viewer traffic. As I have from their visitors.  But I don't press the issue and try not to violate the rules of any site. Even when a request to post a link to my site is denied, I often post a link to that other site if I feel my own viewers will benefit from such.

"Que sara ...sara!" ..or in keeping with the Lithuanian theme...Kas bus tas bus!
