Sarah Palin served as Mayor of City of Wasilla a city that had a population of 5,000. She was Underqualified to be Governor.
There were 12 Times as many people at Obama rally on Thursday night.
Sarah Palin's big controversy as Wasilla Mayor:
Palin fired the Wasilla the police chief and library director for political reasons.
Palin's greatest moment of irony:
Palin suspected commissioner (Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission) Randy Ruedrich of an ethics breach.
How did she handle the aledged ethics breach?
Palin hacked into Ruedrich’s computer, an ethical lapse in its own right, to obtain evidence of her colleague’s malfeasance.

you just can't satisfy the rabid mentally deranged left wing of the democratic party. They fear that not only will Independent conservatives connect with Palin, but democrat conservatives will connect with her too.

I guess you don't mind that Sarah Palin is literally and figuratively a hack.
Come on before she was elected Governor of one of the least populated states in America she was Mayor of a City of 4,600. Where she drove the little town into a tizzy because she tried to fire the librarian because she back Palin's opponent.
This is John McCain's first big decision on his road to the presidency?

ok..what is that?? Some Liberal Blog Site? Seems to be... but the on passage that dealt with Palin was this...
It is difficult not to see Palin's ascendance not just as a challenge to the state's establishment but also as presenting a crudely cut choice between the state's cronyist, resource-economy past and its future. She beat Frank Murkowski, the incumbent, in the GOP primary; voters began to sour on Murkowski as soon as he picked his daughter to replace him in the Senate, and then grew angrier over his grubbing for a private jet and other perceived ethical lapses.
(This is a RINGING ENDORSEMENT on Gov. Palins Ethics.. They Endorse her anti-Cronyist Agenda!!)
He left office the least popular governor in the country. Since her election as governor last November, Palin has made a public point of cutting down on Alaska's excesses, and challenging the easy habits of its past -- getting the state to put Murkowski's infamous jet up for sale on eBay, canceling pork projects and firing patronage appointees.
(Cutting Expenses and wasteful spending is BAD?? Are you SERIOUS??? She sold the damm JET ON EBAY!!!!! OUTSTANDING!!!!)
By early this summer, with the scandals plaguing the rest of the Republican Party, Alaska Democrats had made some headway in the polls. But Palin's approval ratings are over 90 percent.
(A Number 10 times HIGHER then your LIBBY LOU Controlled Congress at 9%)
Whether in the long term Alaska's economy can modernize and the state can wean itself from government welfare remains to be seen. But as Stevens hits back at the FBI through press releases, the senator's old legislative aides plead guilty, and his son endures a federal investigation, the moment is beginning to look like a pivotal point in Alaska's history. Perhaps the rough edges are being ushered out and something more modern and nationally acceptable has begun to move in.
(Is this an endorsement of Palin? Looks like it!! Palin seems to be well liked!)
So where was it in that article about her being a HACKER???
POINT GOES TO - CONSERVATIVES...

So where was it in that article about her being a HACKER???
I am not saying her intentions were bad. I just think it is ironic to be trying to reform ethics by hacking into someon's computer.
Here's your mention in the article it was in the link I provided.
"Sarah Palin, a libertarian and hockey mom from the fast-growing suburbs of Anchorage, began her political career -- as an appointed member of the state's Oil and Gas Commission -- by hacking into the computer of another commissioner, Randy Ruedrich, chairman of the Alaska Republican Party. Palin was seeking the evidence that she would eventually use to charge him with an improper relationship with lobbyists."

And what was the population of the last city and state the janitor was mayor and governor of? Or Biden or McCain for that matter? Seems she has more executive experience than all of them combined. And you can toss Hillary Clinton into that equation too.
Face it leo. You guys on the left will never accept this woman as a candidate because she represents something that the rabid left is fundamentally frightened to death over---she's a staunch conservative who represents what's good for this country. Small government, low taxes, individual responsibility, freedom, and strong defense.
You guys are attempting to minimize her credentials for no other reason than what she represents to voters.
"Her experience doesn't count because the town was too small." "The state wasn't populated enough." How cheap and insignificant can you get arguing such nonsense?
The only candidate you will find acceptable is the one for big government, tax the rich, end the war, save abortion, tells you what you want to hear, and carries a big "D" next to the name.
I have plenty of popcorn and soda ready for the Palin/Biden debate, if you want to come over and watch it with me. This lady is going to make Biden look really bad.

I have no problem with her having opposing views to me. I expect her to represent her party.
But there are dozens....even hundreds of people who have views to represent your party. But she is underqualified to be governor of Alaska even though the state has a population smaller than Columbus, OH.
She has only been governor for a year and half and prior to that she was mayor of a tiny city of 4,600.
She has no advanced degree, almost no experience...views in line with the party are not enough.
She makes Dan Quayle look like a seasoned veteran. Quayle was a congressman and two time senator.

So you figure a man who runs the local five and dime would be as capable of running the multi-national conglomerate?
Maybe some would be, but that would be by far the exception rather than the rule. And they typically move people up the hierarchal chain in order to make these determinations, to decide if the person is competent enough for the next rung up. Because putting the fate of the company into the hands of an incompetent could be disastrous.
Palin may make a very competent VP. But we have even less on which to judge that than we do to judge whether or not Obama would make a competent President, the man your guys have been running down as inexperienced for the last several months.
You want to vote for McCain/Palin? Have fun. It's not like you were ever considering Obama anyway, given your deep seated belief that he only got to where he is today because he's black and the Democratic party propped him up. Just don't expect to convince anyone who wasn't already going to be voting Republican that Palin is experienced enough to take on the VP slot, given what we know about her currently.

| Actually I have to correct leo's original topic line...the population of Wasilla is 9,780, not 9000, then it was 5000, then 4600....wow...the population is experiencing rapid decline?...it's 9,780. And why is it y'all bring up her mayoral experience, she's no longer the Mayor, she's now it's Governor?..

What was the population of Wasilla when she was mayor? Because that's the relevant figure.
Her position as governor is actually the only experience she has that may have relevant meaning. All 1.5 years of it.

no what she did as mayor for 2 terms and governor is what matters.. not how much the population was.. get a clue..
and if that is the case then Obama's whole 143 days in the US Senate has absolutely no meaning for he has been on the campaign trail for the last 2 1/2 years.. LMAO
so I guess Palin's 1.5 yrs as Governor and past 14 years as mayor and counsel woman clearly show she is way more qualified then your community organizer Obama is.. ![[fallingdown]](/forums/themes/default/laughing.gif)

So, let me frame this in a different way.
When she ran for Govenor Sarah Palin was "underqualified"; she had two terms as a small-town mayor under her belt, had to beat out a popular Republican for the parties nomination, and had to take down an incumbent Democratic govenor.
She won the election and became the most popular govenor in the United States, passed societal reforms for the gay rights movement, fought back at Republican pork and trimmed down Alaska's bloated government.
Ya, I think I'd like to see what she could do as an "underqaulified" Vice President. ![[allamerican]](/forums/themes/default/allamerican.gif)
