Inge is my favorite player. And Thames gives more like 20-25 home runs.

They aren't Mannys, but we don't have to pay them like Mannys either.
I too, am an Inge fan.  I love a utility player.  Now if only he could start hitting on a consistent basis...

Please, one of you, explain this fascination people have with inge?Other than being a nice guy and having a great arm, which if he was a pitcher, would be an asset.

But he's averaging an error a game and hitting(sorta)at or under .200,hes way overpaid for what he gives yet the whole town loves him. Its irritating when he's so obviously bad and then leyland, whom i consider a wise baseball mind, starts this waste of roster space instead of getting anyone else, anyone at all,who can at least hit major league pitching consistently.

Other than bobby higginson i can't think of 1 other tiger who got a free pass like this and even bobby got turned on his final year.   I just don't get it.  I just don't get it,lol.

Seriously,its a mystery.

He grew up in or near Lynchburg, VA which is 45 minutes up the road from where I went to college. I ended up working with a bunch of guys he grew up with who subsequently introduced me one time.

What can I say? He gives maximum effort 110% of the time. I like that....

Hey i can appreciate effort also but if thats the best he can do then what good is his best?       He is the most polarizing athlete in detroit, maybe ever. Anywhere else he'd be at single A ball or working at wal-mart.

I hope he proves me wrong but i know he won't.

According to his stats, he's pretty clutch.

If you notice, every year he hits ~.200, he isn't relaxed. Last year it was the fact that he wasn't starting and might be traded away.

I just want to see what happens if we left him alone for two years. Hopefully we don't make him catch this year. He never hits as well as he should when he's catching.

Is anyone surprised?

Well, honestly, I am. I always thought his wrist/hip turn was strong enough as it was to hit 40+ HRs a year naturally...

The owner of the Rangers, Tom Hicks, said he was greatly disappointed in Rodriguez. He also questions if Texas really was the first place he did steroids. Waiting for the beat writer of the Rangers for the Dallas Morning News to say his piece. Evan Grant was disapointed by Rafi Palmiro when it came out he did steriods. It appears that every position had at some point had a player who did steriods.

Well, baseball was the new football/pro-wrestling when it came to steroids.

Plus, when you add in the millions of dollars these guys have, they can pay for the new stuff that doesn't show up on piss tests.

It's getting to the point where the Players Associaton is going to have to let them do blood tests because Congress might take away their monopoly status. If that happens, say goodbye to large contracts unless you're a Yankee.

Test them once week. Put it on espn every friday. Make it like the draft coverage. I can hear berman on the play by play already.  Have that idiot selig up there,"now peeing for the yankees..c.c. sabbathia". Have canseco there to look at the urine and comment on its color.  Huge ratings...huge.

I'm going to take my boys to lakeland for their first time. Of course once we get there i'm probably going to have to take them to disney but it'll still be worth it.
