Sausage!!!!
So THAT'S how they're supposed to taste like!
But my friend is a good cook, so hers are yummy - and not artery clogging.
Ummmmm. Scotch eggs!

One question - What is so artery-clogging about them?
My friend is a hard-core vegetarian so she may have substituted any meat products with something else. Are you telling me, they aren't supposed to be made vegetarian? Have I been eating "imitation" scotch eggs?
Traditional Scotch Eggs are made with sausage meat wrapped around a boiled egg, coated in breadcrumbs and then deep fried. You could also try Gala Pie, which is similar but has a pastry surround.

V. nice with a cold beer.

Are you a Southern girl? I love chicken gizzards, livers and hearts. They go great with corn on the cob and fried okra. All washed down with sweet iced tea.

Axis, I read almost every post and yours is the one that made my stomach churn. I know, i know, don't knock it till you've tried it.
My Jewish grandmother put chicken feet in her chicken soup and I ate frog's legs in France.

| I've always found my dad's love of pineapple slices and mayonnaise on bread to be rather odd. I love mayo and pineapple but I've never felt the need to combine the two...

Rabbit and shark? I don't consider them weird or unusual. (have had both - yum).
This is more like it!:

I've also eaten jellyfish and sea cucumber, but don't consider them favorites. The jellyfish are processed so that they look like noodles (clear) and are pickled and served with veggies in a cold dish. The sea cucumber was in a soup. I've only had it once and don't remember anything special about it.
I've also had Bird's Nest soup which is made from the regurgitated goop that birds use to glue together their nests. So it can be considered bird puke soup, as far as I'm concerned - but it was actually quite good. But I don't like it with bits of meat (makes the taste/texture weird). But I don't eat it enough to claim I love it.
Come on people - give me really weird foods!

Borsht, Home-Made Kefir, and Salmon Caviar.
Alas, the latter one is eaten quite rarely...
