I find it very interesting that in Denmark, unlike many other EU countries, you cannot own a house unless you're a Danish citizen.

Though it comes across as discriminatory at first, I think it's fair... Denmark is a very small country with only 5 million people, and your government decided that housing priority should go to Danes first, to make land more affordable to Denmark's native inhabitants.

Something similar exists in the State of Hawaii...  If you're at least a quarter native Hawaiian, you can buy a home for much less, although anybody is allowed by law to purchase real estate in Hawaii (whereas in Demark only Danes have that right)

Feedback would be appreciated on this interesting case.

BTW, from the 2.5 days I spent in Denmark last summer, I really found your suburbs and housing architecture very cute...

well actually you can obtain property as a foreigner... you just need to seek permission from the proper public authority. same goes for companies and so...

Also the law is not actually regarding foreigners. Danes that has not lived in Denmark for a period of 5 years needs to go through the same process.
