I have a question about my Romanian M1969 training rifle. I only have internet access at work and the filter won't let me get to a proper firearms site.
I am having a devil of a time putting a scope on it. It has a dovetail groove, but it appears to be more cosmetic than functional. The rings I bought won't grip properly. Also, if I attach it as it is, the eyepiece end of the scope interferes with the safety.
Has anyone familiar with the rifle solved this problem. Would taking it to a gunsmith and drilling solve all these problems?
I understand that it's a cheap commie rifle, but it's mine and I love it. ![[love]](/forums/themes/default/love003.gif)

it sounds to me like you don't have the correct rings/mount for it. read through this thread and the links in it to see if it will help you with your problem
