As I mentioned before, the Venus Transit cycle... is every ~121.5 yrs (+/- 8yrs). 100 cycles is a ballpark of 12-13,000 yrs ago. And 200 cycles is a ballpark of 24-26,000. Well within the cycle variance tolerances.
It appears that approximately every 100 cycles of Venus Transit, this celestial configuration comes into alignment. And that every other time this alignment occurs, we also have this "galactic alignment". As well as archeological/geological evidence that, at least the last 2 times, when this 100 cycle alignment occurs... we also experience a major climate shift. And possibly a polar shift.
As to WHY these things appear to happen every time this alignment occurs... right now, we don't know yet.
This is the first time we will have modern scientific instruments to take readings before, during, and hopefully afterwards. The data we extract from those readings may provide the answers to what forces drive these events.
The real question, as far as "DoomsDay" stuff goes, is actually rather simple. Will the forces of this alignment generate powerful stress loads on the tectonic plates? It's going to be a yes or no situation.
For whatever reasons, if it does... we've got major problems. If it doesn't, we should be pretty much good to go. So until we have some high confidence data allowing us to construct simulation models... we just won't know until the Fat Lady sings.

The only problems I forsee are with solar flares from the sun knocking out satellites. Which of course could cause huge problems for us on earth.

Since we should already be experiencing the full effects of the gravitational pulls of the great Galactic Alignment, we should be experiencing earthquakes, tsunamis, and climatical shifts.
