I think the health care plan is a amazing thing that has the possibility to make America more economically sound. As a matter of fact it will make for a better economy. People who lose their jobs because they are ill is out of the question. People who see their sons or daughters die because they can't afford treatment is disgusting. With the plan theres no worries.
I’m sitting on the fence with all of the doctors and nurses waiting to hear at least one politician bring up the reality of high healthcare cost: defensive medicine. Why on earth we accept the emotional verdict of a jury deciding whether or not procedure was followed is beyond me. It’s not like recording system cost all that much.
we need it thats for sure. I think we should go even further. I believe a single payer system would be the way to go. at this point I really don't know or have a good feeling how congress is going to go on health care. we have too many in congress that are bought and paid for by big corporations especially the health and medical industry. I'm very tired of it.

You have got to be kidding! America is going to be less economically sound if this ridiculous bill passes. No worries? I hardly think so. There are going to be a lot of new worries. The bureaucracy and new taxes are going to be awful. How can a trillion dollar package not affect the deficit?
*Sniff ... Do I smell troll? Why I believe I do ...
I'm still trying to figure out who exactly is going to be joining this 'public option' that everyone is talking about. Unless it's cheaper than what I have now (co-pays, premium, deds, etc.) I'm not getting in.
Kucinich is probably the only Democrat in Congress who actually has Balls, and is true and honest to his values. (just as Ron Paul is the ONLY Republican who is true/honest to his values and has balls!) Pelosi and Reid, keep this in mind next time the voters cast the ballot, you incompetent dullards!

Be gone, troll.

He may or may not be a troll, but it's a legitimate question.
I honestly don't think most of our elected officials understand this bill at all.
All I hear are the Dems saying they want to get 'something' passed and yet I have no clue what in the heck they plan on passing, especially once the Senate gets their hands on it and waters it down considerably.
I'm tired of this health care debate...and I'm pretty sure Obama is also and I can bet he just wants to get a bill on his desk, regardless of how effective it is, sign it, and just move on.
The Devil is in the details and until I see what the Senate comes up with I'm not sure I'll support the bill. With our wimpy Dems God only knows how crappy this bill is going to end up.
Dems DESERVE to lose - in big numbers - in 2010 for how they have fumbled their way through this whole mess.

Fair enough; some of us read enough to have a clue.

I agree with single payer. I also think that the entire system has to be reworked to take the profit motive out, or there will always be attempts to screw the patient.
The costs will cripple the government just like it is currently doing, so unless the costs are brought down, none of this will amount to anything but a minor little patch to a massive problem.

Just curious, what exactly was passed last night? Was it health care reform, or health insurance reform?

I'll let Harry Reid answer for you:
"From the Senate, Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada issued a statement saying, "We realize the strong will for reform that exists, and we are energized that we stand closer than ever to reforming our broken health insurance system."
