Sarah Palin Weighs In
The Barracuda spurns Scozzafava.

Sarah Palin's decision to endorse the Conservative Party candidate in an upstate New York special election for Congress has dramatically raised the stakes in the race.

Establishment Republicans have largely lined up behind Republican Dede Scozzafava, despite a voting record in the state legislature that puts her to the left of half of the Democrats in that body. Ms. Palin, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, former presidential candidate Fred Thompson, and Rep. Michelle Bachman of Minnesota are all backing Conservative Doug Hoffman, who narrowly failed to beat Ms. Scozzafava for the support of the ten GOP county chairmen who selected the Republican nominee.

Ms. Palin alluded to the fact that Ms. Scozzafava was picked by party bosses and not by a primary electorate. "Best of all, Doug Hoffman has not been anointed by any political machine," she wrote her supporters. "Unfortunately, the Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate that more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race. This is why Doug Hoffman is running on the Conservative Party's ticket."

Scozzafava is a RINO who votes to the left of most democrats, yet Republican Party leadership endorses her.

Insanity.

Hoffman is a Conservative Republican running on a Conservative ticket because Republican leadership spurned him.

They still haven't learned.  Conservative Republican win.  Liberal Republicans get outliberaled by real democrats.

Hoffman will beat Scozzafava.

LoT,

You do know most of the so called conservatives here are neo liberals just like Scozzafava, don't you.

Almost anything Palin does is sure to raise their hackles and dash their hopes.

I'm concerned about this, cloudman.

I don't like at all the idea of my girl Sarah kissing the ring of that anti Christian, collectivist, Obama momma Oprah.

This disturbs me greatly.

Moderate is not the same as "liberal" there LoT...not all of us need to be or should be to the right of McCarthy to be considered a Republican...I'm just fine to be considered in the Eisenhower/Theodore Roosevelt/Goldwater frame of Republican mold.

Oh..and as regards the Conservative Party..apparently they have no scruples against supporting the opposition either...

from wiki...

"However it has also endorsed Democratic candidates as well, such as controversial former Buffalo mayor and presidential candidate Jimmy Griffin, who was initially elected mayor solely on the Conservative ticket but had Republican support as well for his subsequent campaigns. It also cross-endorsed such Democrats as former Manhattan District Attorney Frank Hogan and Capital District Congressman Michael McNulty. No Republican has won statewide office in New York without Conservative Party support since 1974."

If I was Palin , I would spurn Oprah like Oprah spurned her during the campaign.

OTOH It's free publicity if Palin handles herself well.

I'd wait and see what happens.

I'd laugh my ass off if she declared for 2012 on that fat pig's show.

Is this a surprise? Palin, a true conservative, supports a true conservative. The D or R after a name are less important than what they really believe.

What kind of "Conservative" puts a city of 8000 in debt to the tune of 20 million in order to build a sports arena.

I might too.  Same way as I might laugh as the lemmings blithely walk off the side of the cliff and get mashed into flying lemming bits and spray on the rocks below the cliff.

Palin is an idiot.  Do you get that?  An idiot.  Sure, she's attractive, she's got the same chunky hipster glasses as the liberal hipsters, but she's still an idiot.  I didn't believe that when McCain picked her, but I damned well know it now.

And no, she is not a conservative, not by the reasonable incrementalist definition I know works.  She's a poser, pandering to the ideologues, hoping for her own personal lottery win or Jesus to carry her to the impossible win.  She's doing no good for the GOP, the nation or even herself.

Fiscal conservative...but puts a town of 8,000 in debt to the tune of 20 million, and for what..a sports arena...ahuh...and you call this fiscal responsibility?

Pro-National Defense..so are most Republicans as a rule, nothing new here.

Anti-Federal income tax structure...so are most Republicans as a rule, nothing new here.

Pro-2nd Amendment...again..so are most Republicans as a rule...nothing new here...

Took 6 years to get a degree in...wait for it...sports journalism????

Can't name one single solitary source of media she gleans information from in an Nationally Televised interview...yet her own Capitol has 2 newspaper dailies.

Can't name one single solitary USSC case that affirms the 2nd Amendment or on issue of gun-control, although Washington DC just lifted it's ban on firearms, DC, a city obstensibly where she'd be called upon to work in..

Pimped her family for "tradiitonal values"...only to have her daughter get pregnant out of wedlock (whom she also taught abstinence only education btw)..and then using her daughter's baby father as furtherance of "traditional values" saying they were going to get married anyway...but when the campaign was over...suddenly the marriage didn't go forth...gee..like I couldn't see that happening...

Finally...the nail in her political coffin as far as I'm concerned...she's a quitter...when the heat came on her as Governor of the State of Alaska...she folded like a deck of cards, completing less then half her term as Governor...and you'd want this kind of woman in the Oval Office????

I could care less what religion she is, what color she is, etc..etc...as Tom-n-sac said, she's stupid, and utterly unsuitable for anything other then Anchorage's KTBY (Fox affiliate) as the Weather Girl.

Sarah Palin will soak up the media attention she's getting for as long as she can get it under the appalling delusion that it somehow strengthens her chances of being elected to higher office.  But what it really does is show what kind of orally incontinent idiots the media will focus on, as the "prime movers" of the conservatives, so that by proxy the media can make us all appear to be idiots to the electorate.

In other words, Sarah Palin and Joe Wilson and the rest of the drooling idiot fundamentalist teabagger sect are the tar and the brush with which the media would paint us all.

And to top everything off:

Palin's great - great- grandfather was at the Alamo.

He was one of the whiteys up on the wall with a whiskey bottle in his pocket and a Bible in his kit.

And Palin's grandfather served during world war 2 and went to France and marveled at how all the frogs were living it up, free as birds then returned to the states disgruntled and ashamed at his own country then joined a motorcycle gang for revenge.

And Palin once had an uncle who assualted an atheist inside a bar and was arrested and charged with a hate crime.

= idiot.
