The last bubble was created by deregulation of the financial sector and republican refusal to regulate housing based securities. Oh and the behavior of the fiercely pro market Greenspan.

Had the housing securities been regulated properly, there would have been no bubble

What is both Funny, and Sad about what noetsi said above is...How he honestly does believe everything said. Problem is...where does belief begin, and the truth end with noetsi. Looks like both are equally wrong. But has to be correct because noesti said so.

Ok, that's seems kind of funny because according to Gallup, 40% of Americans identify themselves as conservative, 36% as moderates, and ONLY 20% as liberals.

According to the following article,

http://freshleadership.blogspot.com/2009/10/gallup-america-is-moving-right-40.html

The growth in the conservative numbers comes from independents, 35% in 2008, shrinking to 29% in 2009.

It's not just the economic gloom, it's the policies of this administration, Obamacare, Cap and Trade, amnesty for illegals, indecisiveness on Afghanistan, etc..

Cy, you have to do better than that.  Try to explain why conservatives sweep the elections in Virginia, NY-23, and NJ.  If republicans aren't profiting from the economic gloom, how does that happen?

Everything we will soon be hearing from the liberal democrats about the election will be based on how they now call Losing an Election....as Winning an election.

They began preparing to explain...with their excuses...yesterday, and into today as the polls began looking rather questionable....with the Dems all appearing to be losing.

So now. After all the announcements are made...following the counts in the polls. The Dems MUST come here to explain how HAPPY they want us to believe they are...saying it was all in their plans to LOSE the elections in Jersey, New York, and Virginia.

That's how they THINK they will save FACE.  FACE with Pie's in them.

I thought the lesson to be learned from those elections was that conservatives who portray themselves as moderates can win elections, and conservative who pander to the likes of oldsalt, patruth, engine, and LoT, lose elections.

Republicans who put a bit of distance between themselves and the Palin-lovers will do a lot better in contested districts in 2010, than they would if they went hard to the right.

Rasmussen has the GOP with a slight lead in the generic congressional poll. Sorry to ruin your day, cyg. BTW, how 'bout that 15% approval for the democrat congress?

Sucking on the gloom pop isn't working

That's because the Republican party has decided to support liberal Republicans.  The democrat party is comfortably nestled in with the voters on the far left.  The Republican party is trying to take up the middle ground when people don't want that.  In trying to be more like the democrats they are losing support from their own.  NY 23 was the perfect example of how disconnected Republican leadership is from those it claims to represent.

The republicans who won their elections courted the middle ground of independent was running for congresss in a rural district courted the "real" conservatives and lost.

When the evidence blatantly proves you wrong, you would do well to stop promoting the same bulls**t reasoning that you guys have been giving for losing elections since 2006.

What we learned in NY 23 is that Hoffman, a little known candidate with no national presence, stood for conservative values and almost took the race.  He lost because the Republican party supported Scozzafava, a RINO, and wasted campaign cash that should have gone to Hoffman.  Had Hoffman been given the million they gave to Scozzafava he would have won that race easily.

In the governor races that Repubs did win the candidates were not middle of the road candidates.  They supported conservative principles:  smaller government, encouraging small business, and job growth in the PRIVATE sector.  On top of that they opposed the major national issues that liberals are trying shove down everyone's throat.

That's why they won.

Obama: Economy "Sobering," but Turning Around

Even at 10.2 percent, the worst in more than a quarter century, the nation's unemployment rate has not topped out.

"More likely than not, it will get a little worse before it gets better," said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs at his midday briefing today.

For months, the White House had been warning us to brace for a double-digit unemployment rate. It arrived this morning with a thud – like an anvil dropped from a 10.2-story building.

But will unemployment catapult the ultra-conservative GOP?
