Americans are growing increasingly pessimistic about the economy after a mild upswing of attitudes in September. But Republicans haven't been able to profit politically from the economic gloom, according to a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll.

What really counts is how the voters respond. If the polling in NJ is any indication there will be another democrat blood letting.
If and I do say if Corzine loses the dems know they are in real trouble.
I think the American people are already for a change, the closed door, mean spirited, corporate welfare world of Obama and crew is getting really old. Our children are crying, we need to listen to the children, not teach them to march like a communist puppet.

We can't forget Virginia! Yesterday in Norfolk. Obama showed up to help the Dem named Deeds.
Some thought it was the KISS OF DEATH for Deeds who didn't really look like his confidence level for next week....had any gas left in the tank.
Obama made noise....and for those who still deny Obama's penchant for slipping in those Outright LIES. He didn't fail to show how his propensity for LIES of any size are as natural as BREATHING.
It looks like Virgina and New Jersey may both give OBAMA the signs he has been refusing to accept...as in Being Responsible for the Democrat losses in both states next week.
Looks like HOPE and CHANGE just didn't catch on!

Right...... no celebrations needed. They saw it in Obama's eyes!
Just investigate Deeds of Virginia. I have no reason to celebrate a sure thing.

Let's not bust poor cygo's bubble. He clings to some obscure leftist polls that show people are still supporting this failed democrat regime. Cygo should look at the Congressional approval ratings. They used to blame it on Bush. We all know if the dems lose in NJ and Virginia there will be a complete panic withing the democrat ranks. The rest of the democrats will distance themselves from the Bamster to save their own political lives. His presidency will be all but over.
Let's hope Mr Salty, either Obama is stopped or this country goes to bankruptcy court.

The Republicans seem to always be battling public opinion. Although more people think of themselves as Conservatives, the 95% Liberal Media makes sure those people only hear what the Liberal Media wants them to hear.
As we all see, truth is dependent on your point of view.

Big_Mike: Shhhhhhhhh. Don't give them any more information they can't handle. They have to go out and vote tomorrow, so stop confusing them with TOO MANY words.

The public views the economy based on jobs and income. It has little confidence that republicans will do well by most Americans on these because in the past it has not. So gloom about the economy, which has been growing for a decade, won't change party success. It would only if the public thought republicans would do better in terms of jobs and wages and it does not.
Polls taken in 2008, before the collapse of the economy, showed the most negative views on where the country was headed economically since this question began in the fifties.
