Surround yourself with intelligent people

Barack Obama meets with the Queen of England. He asks her, "How do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give to me?"

"Well," says the Queen, "the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people."

Obama frowns. "But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?" he asks.

"Oh, that's easy," says the Queen. "You just ask them to answer a simple riddle."

Just then Gordon Brown walks into the room.

"Gordon, your mother and father have a child," says the Queen. "It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?"

Brown answers, "Oh. That would be ... me, your majesty?"

"Yes! Very good," says the Queen.

Upon his return to Washington, D.C., Obama asks Joe Biden the same question. "Joe. Your mother and your father have a kid. It's not your brother and it's not your sister. Who is it?"

"I'm not sure," says Biden. "Let me get back to you on that one." He goes to his advisers and asks every one, but no one can give him an answer. Finally, he ends up in the men's room and recognizes Robert Gates' shoes in the next stall. Biden asks Gates, "Robert! Can you answer this for me? Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"

Gates responds, "That's easy. It's me!"

Biden smiles, and says, "Thanks!" Then, he goes back to speak with Obama.

"Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It's Robert Gates."

Obama gets up, stomps over to Biden, and angrily yells into his face, "No, you idiot! It's Gordon Brown!"

Common denomintor ofcourse is that all the men I voted for were Democrats.
And had Bush been the FIRST black running against Gore, can we assume you would not have voted for him?????
If Bush was black a I still wouldn't to vote for him. It didn't stop you for voting for him. The common denominator was all of the men I voted for were Democrats. I'm still waiting to hear what black man you voted for. I rest my case.

I accuse them of being obsessed with race.  I accuse them of riding to the halls of power on the backs of minorities.  I accuse them of creating a self perpetuating cycle of poverty, crime and drug addiction vis a vis their promotion of the welfare state.  I accuse them of stealing the nomination from the Hillary who got more votes in order to give it to one of the least qualified men to ever run for President; I accuse them of choosing him because he is black.  I accuse them of being f*cking racists and they can all kiss my Puerto Rican a$$.

Well you know what, Mal?  I've got you beat because I've never voted a straight Party ticket in my life.  I vote for indidviduals based on their personal abilities, qualifications and beliefs not their Party affiliation.  Congratulations, you're an ideologue!

It's your side that's obsessed with race.  Your side that see people not as individuals but as voting blocs.

First things first. Without the Democrats ie JFK, LBJ  your Puerto Rican ass wouldn't have any rights in this country. You can play the nebulous racial identity game if you want BUT the reality is this country has a problem with non-white people. Blacks particularly have it bad because there is no hiding of our race. We can say I'm Puerto Rican and be excused. Ask your Moreno Boriquas they will tell you the many problems they have in this country. Calling me an ideolog is comical coming from a guy who doesn't know me from a can of paint. I am a proud Democrat. The party has actually stood for something over the past 4o years.

Where were the Republicans when it came to helping the poor? What solutions did the GOP come up with to help anyone who wasn't rich and owned a gun or a corporation. The party of Lincoln has strayed miserably from it's LIBERAL roots. It went from the great" Emancipator" to the great "Communicator" to just a dumb guy in office. You guys have sat by and watched your party get taken over be the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity. Is that what you are about now. A bunch of rhetoric from political huckster and hacks. Sad, really sad.

Mal. Since only YOU claims to be the resident authority on everything related to race, racists, and bigotry. Please tell us now..about those 40 years you spoke of, that began with LBJ's promise to all Black Americans called the Great Society.

And, as you are giving us detailed accounts from your vast historical views. Please explain why those same Black Americans who were promised so much by the LBJ Democrats back then...are STILL WAITING for those promises to go into effect, or become anything close to reality.

Obviously. Since you've been around that long. You are more than qualified to explain to the rest of us...whom you openly despise, and possibly hate due to our skin color, why Black Americans with LESS education than YOU....are so easily led, and convinced to continue WAITING for LBJ's promise to come true....election, after election?

Will you explain all of that to us now?

Why would you want my opinion? You have called me a racist and other misnomers. Why would my opinion mean anthing to you? Since you asked let's start with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. LBJ's "Great Society" was a step in the right direction but could not stand the test of time. Democrats have served the African-American community's needs over that time period. The GOP has been on the wrong side of history in regards to civil rights. My question to you is what has the Republican party done to earn the black vote? I don't expect you to answer but I'd thought ASK.

Obama went to Jersey and Va. 5 or 6 times each to campaign for the democrats. That proves these 2 elections were important.

They were very important-and the fact that the Dems lost big-time says a lot about how Obama's failure to perform on every level has caused the American people to become furious with him.

They were fooled into voting for him, with a plethora of false promises, many of which were about getting beyond politics as usual.

Now that they have realized that they were sold by a slick-talking snake oil salesman, they're out to get rid of him, along with anyone who supports him.

Obama's presidency is far from over in fact it's just begun. I didn't expect you to have the maturity to understand that change is a process. Obama can't wave a majic wand and make all of our problems go away. He has already restored our stature as a superpower in 10 short months. He has impressed the world so much they awarded him the Nobel Peace Prize. He is reforming Healthcare and stimulating the economy. I don't expect you to give him any credit but the facts are that he is handling the country's business with class, grace and competence. A lot more than that guy you voted for twice.

Important for the constituents of the two states. The reality that it doesn't have too big of a footprint nationally. The gloom and doomers will see this as an omen. I see it for what it is two lost elections.
