House Republican leader John Boehner says the GOP wants moderates in the party and calls the special election for a New York congressional seat an unusual situation.

| Reminds me of the time St. Ronnie was asked why 90+% of blacks voted Democratic. "We're trying to get the word out..." was his aw shucks reply. Boehner is no Ronnie Raygun.

This is why the Republican Party is all but dead. Because the leadership still wants liberalism (known here as "moderate).

Why, so they can pick liberal republicans like Dede Scazzofava as republican candidates who loose against real liberal democraps.
We don't need moderates, we need real conservatives.
BTW, where are the moderates in the dem party? Who are they? You dems like to advise us republicans that we need more moderates in our party, does the dem party have any moderates?
And just what do you care whether we have moderates in our party? They vote with you anyway. I would think that if we kicked them out, you'd be happy to pick up the extra votes.
So just why should we take your advice?

While the cost of living increased over 2% a year, the Republicans neglected to raise the federal minimum wage for 10 years.
With the Katrina disaster, our first responders were under funded, under staffed, and headed by a complete moron that only knew about managing Arabian horses.
Republicans govern by neglect.
They don't do a damn thing.
