I thought the Republican party was pronouced dead a year ago... marginalized... irrelevant...abandoned by the young... racial demographics made it impossible to be anything more than a shadow of its former self... George Alligator said so... it must be true. I'm so confused.

And yet another "I told you so" moment for IronBob.  What is it I said back about nine months ago?  That getting Obama as President was a gift to the GOP.

We even have people in our own party wanting to doom the republican party to political impotence and obscurity by calling for a 3rd party.  What they really want is for the conservative base to split off and start a 3rd party.  These are the thoughts of the moderates.

Well, if the moderates want a 3rd party, thats just fine, let them leave the republican party and start the "Moderate Party", and leave the republican party to the conservatives.

I'd still rather see a 3rd party...

We've tried them before.  They are usually useless because they can't find a candidate with an IQ above 50 or isn't crazier then hell or thinks the answer to all our problems is a $10 gas tax.

NJ had little or nothing to do with Obama, he's still very popular here. Corzine wasn't popular even before the economy tanked and his solution to everything has been more taxes, which finally overcame the enormous amount of his own wealth he was willing to sacrifice for his personal vanity.

Democrats still overwhelmingly control the Legislature... and  the larger problem is the gaping $8 billion hole in the upcoming budget and how Christie can possibly lower taxes while dealing with that.

Hey everyone!  Looks like WE didn't do too bad....Since we're a DEAD party!

Let's not forget those words of our President....  "We Won!"

You will need those words when the liberal democrats on this forum strike again with their excuses created by the DNC that says.... "Losing for Democrats is Winning!"

Now is not the time to become complacent, or overly confident. There is a lot of work to do before the 2010 and 2012 elections are here.

Hooray for New Jersey and Virginia.  New York was not a loss for us in the 23rd. IT was a loss for the entire state.... Hillaryland is still strong....and BROKE.
