Because right now, the smear effort, launched by Big Hollywood, doesn't seem to be going anywhere. And the hysterical claims being made about children being brainwashed because they sing songs in school honoring the president of the United States (how dare they?) certainly doesn't mirror the manufactured controversy the GOP Noise Machine was able to kick up in back September.

We knew long before the Obama Youth sing alongs children were being indoctrinated in the schools. Perhaps "media smatters" should catch up.........

Fear of the mainstream, fear of America.. it never ends.

| I'm only 35; my memories of Presidents only go back to Carter. In all that time I don't remember even one report of schoolchildren singing the praises of Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton or Bush. How can anyone in all honesty say that singing thepraises of any living leader is not a form of idoctrination? Without evidence I won't go so far as to say that it's more than just some overly zealous Obama supporters, but it is sill overt indoctrination of young impressionable minds. You Obamunists would be better served condemning this rather than making excuses.

| Anyone who takes their children to church is guilty of indoctrinating them.

Ever see the movie "Jesus Camp"? They had children bowing and praying to a cardboard cutout of gwb.
It happens. It's dumb and will be of no consequence in the future. Making mountains out of molehills is a waste of time and distracts from real issues.

Probably not. Few Americans are silly enough to believe you can indoctrinate people in public schools. The history of the shool system not being able to make young people do anything is ingrained in our culture from James Dean to modern times.
This is something only the far right will take seriously, and they already made up their mind. The key is to reach people who dont automatically agree with you.

Right wingers believe you can be 'indoctrinated' because they are so susceptible to the process themselves. In fact, they are virtually defenseless against programming.
So they quite naturally assume the rest of the populace is as gullible as they are.

| I think many on the right realize they are losing ground with the US public. And since they inherently believe most Americans believe in them, they have to create conspiracy theories as to why this is occuring being it indoctrination or ACORN.
