Found this in BBC, apparently the wacky liberals thought this was by CIA, but BBC debunked that. It's really good and informative since our media is so off.

Good find.

The media in the US is not off by accident, it has its own agenda.  They backed Gore/Kerry and still haven't gotten over their loss, so they do their utmost to sabotage Bush and anything that might make him look good - even if it means ignoring the truth.

For me the ends don't justify the means. For many liberals, and some conservatives, they do.

" The media in the US is not off by accident, it has its own agenda.  They backed Gore/Kerry and still haven't gotten over their loss, so they do their utmost to sabotage Bush and anything that might make him look good - even if it means ignoring the truth."

The media, which is supposed to give the appearence of being neutral, has declared its allegiance to the Democrats and liberal policies.  They have lied and presented false 'evidence' to attempt to influence a Presidential election.  They claim to be independent, but their use of identical terms, like "gravitas" or "hubris" reveals their collusion and bias.  THAT's an AGENDA.

Too bad you need it spoon fed to ya!

Yes, but this is commonplace in Journalism. ANY journalism. Particularly when they are covering the same story. For the most part, Journalists work together.

Thank you for the link.  Nice to hear from the Iraqi people.

ABC, NBC and CBS should be ashamed of their pathethic coverage.  CNN news also.

FOX needs to do exclusive reports on the Iraqi citizens.

Being from the under part of the world, it is not surprising that you missed the significance of the practice.

The US has two major parties - Rs and Ds.  Each side has a group to administer to their needs called National Committees (RNC and DNC).
For the last 12 or twenty or so years, the DNC has issued "talking points" to their operatives: issues to be discussed and terms to use when attacking their enemies or supporting their programs.  An example was when GW Bush ran for his first term and picked Cheney as VP.  The DNC determined that Bush should be portrayed as not having the experience necessary to be President and that he chose Cheney to make up for his lack of "gravitas."  The next morning, EVERY elected official from the left was on the political interview shows using the term 'gravitas,'  which was immediately picked up by the talking heads and reporters, not as quotes, but to describe what they perceived as Bush's deficiency.

Using someone else's terms or materials is plagierism unless it is presented as a quote.  There can be collaboration on a story, but the newspapers and other news outlets are competitors and would not all be privy to the same terminology ALL the time.  That's much more than just working together.

If the media is so liberal, why did they allow the Bush administration to get away with the lies and vicious attacks during the election campaign? Why did they fail to expose the warning signs of 9-11 that this administration failed to act on (that were later exposed during the 9-11 hearings)? Why did they not expose the lies and manipulation of the administration and ignore the many foreign policy experts who doubted Iraq's threat capability and ties to Al Qeada? If the American media is so liberal, they would have crucified Bush by now. His manipulative lies, inaction, unaccountability, and weak decision-making has certainly given them enough nails to do the job. [usa]

Oh yeah, like it really shows.  Lemme guess- because the corporations that own the outlets are controlled by conservatives, those outlets must spew a conservative agenda!  Yeah, right.

Can ANY liberal answer this question:

Why do the media paint the war scene as something different than what it is, to show that it should be abhorred, and ultimatly Bush's flop?

And don't try to tell me they don't...

When you come up with an example of how well this war as progressed, because

1 It was supposed to be quick and cheap- it wasnt

2 We went there to find WMD- but there wasnt any

3 bush declared "All major combat operations over'- when it was actually the start of it

4 A steady drumbeat of new excuses for why we are there

5 bush has no idea what to do next after the elections

This war has turned out to be exactly opposite of what the bush mob said it would be- so what do you expect the media to do, parrot the official line which is nothing but a parade of lies and deception?

If you ask me, the media has been far too kind to bush and has fallen down on the job. The media was all "rah-rah- bring on the ratings" when this disaster started, and all you want is a pravda style media that tells you 'everything is fine- move along, bush is wonderful"

Allawi’s people were passing out pamphlets a few days ago. I went out to the garden to check the low faucet, hoping to find a trickle of water and instead, I found some paper crushed under the garden gate. Upon studying it, it turned out to be some sort of “Elect Allawi” pamphlet promising security and prosperity, amongst other things, for occupied Iraq. I'd say it was a completely useless pamphlet but that isn't completely true. It fit nicely on the bottom of the cage of E.'s newly acquired pet parakeet.

They say the borders are closed with Jordan and possibly Syria. I also heard yesterday that people aren't being let into Baghdad. They have American check-points on the main roads leading into the city and they say that the cars are being turned back to wherever they came from. It's a bad situation and things are looking very bleak at this point.

It's amazing how as things get worse, you begin to require less and less. We have a saying for that in Iraq, "Ili yishoof il mawt, yirdha bil iskhooneh." Which means, "If you see death, you settle for a fever." We've given up on democracy, security and even electricity. Just bring back the water.

Damn you make it to easy..........so what you would like us to believe is that dan the lying man rather and Republicans conspired to us fake documents which came from a man in Texas, who hated bush,  so Bush would get reelected.  Like I said to damn easy.

I've posted this site several times in the past....I check it often to get the real view of what people in Iraq, here is a current posting regarding the upcoming elections

I just want to add a short comment regarding this…thing.
Zarqawi claims that the rule of the majority violates the principle that laws must come from a divine source.

Has he forgotten that the opinion of the majority was respected in the early days of Islam? Has he forgotten that the prophet himself used to ask the citizens of the "Madina" for their opinion (and folow it) in more than one ocassion when a critical decision-making was needed?
I'd like also to ask Zarqawi another question: if the majority was to mean the Talibans or the radical Wahabists, would he be against that majority?

Let's ignore the ridiculous content of the tape and the sick ideology of its source and let's move to the motives of releasing this tape at this time.

Frankly speaking, I think there's a good possibility that this tape is either fake or mere show-business because this tactic used to be Saddam's defense method against rumors; whenever there was a rumor about him being sick or injured he would appear the very next day, all the day on TV, radio, newspapers and even toilet papers to prove that he's still alive and in power.

So it could be either Zarqawi himself trying to prove that these rumors (thanks Roger, I haven't been watching TV lately) are just rumors or it could be one (or a group) of his aides using his ghost to keep the people living in fear and to cover their loss.

Anyway, if the tape was true, then it isn't going to make any difference, because the people here already know that Zarqawi and his criminals are against the elections and they have realized that those terrorists will try everything to stop the elections from happening.

I mean, the threat didn't appear out of the blue; it was there all the time and despite that threat, the people have made up their mind and expressed their willingness to vote and take the risk.
Hundreds of car-bomb attacks and nearly 2 years of killings haven't stopped the majority of Iraqis from declaring their will to vote or to run for offices. Now is it possible that a stupid tape can do that? I don't think so.

If we agree to live in fear for one day then we're going to live in fear forever.
Today, the terrorists are using the elections as an excuse to murder the "infidels" and they will never run short of other insane excuses in the future, they will find something else; maybe soccer will justify Jihad against the "infidels"!

are thinking...

You are only half right.  Most of the news media is OWNED by members of the right, but most of the editors and staffs are liberals.   The owners hire, but the staffs control what editorial content will be presented.  TV has CBS, NBC, WABC, WWOR, CNBC, CNN, FNC (Fox), MSNBC and PBS and 8 of the 9 are liberal, presenting one point of view.  FNC, labeled as right wing, is the only one that permits both sides to be heard.   Their reporter (moderator) has two 'experts' to discuss a given topic - one pro, the other con, or left vs right.  The others will have one conservative and three liberals and suggest it is 'fair.'  Most of the mainstream press suffers from the same malady.
