Hey those are some great video clips up there of all those big waves.
But I got the same place using this address from yahoo search engines:
http://www.learntosurf.info
I also liked the virtual surf school surf tour of Mazatlan Great!! Nice job on all the history about the short board revolution and the heroes of modern surfing!!
There sure are a lot of beautiful girls. I may have to leave my husband at home.
Fantastic website!!

You don't have to worry about the surf being good in this area of the Mexican Coast. I surf the area every spring. I did surf Baja a lot in the past but it is too barren. No shade and it got crowded. Mazatlan has way more breaks. More reefs to surf, more points, and a there is a classic superbank that get created during the rainy season. Surf the other rivermouths around Mazatlan and your trip will be made. Mazatlan is a good call for surf because the area gets the same surf as the rest of Mexico but there is so much more going on in the area. It is just a good place to have a beer, enjoy the food and the culture. The surf scene is very laid back, but don't get fooled by the mellow locals. The surf gets big all the time. They're on it. Local surfers like Alister and Charras rip.

In the winter the rivermouths are not as good as the summer but after October, there is a strong, predominant wind that blows down across the Sea of Cortez from the northwest during the day - everyday. Mazatlan then gets really nice leftover surf the next mornings with super-glassy conditions that mix with small south swells, so it is never flat!! When spring comes, the windswells get even better and begin to mix with powerful south swell surf, creating dozens of great beach breaks, and the reefs and points start going off. Most people don't have a clue that the Sea of Cortez is actually a really good surf machine. At the
http://surfmazatlan.com webpage,
you can get a good impression of what the winter windswells look like in Mazatlan by clicking to their surf school page.

I think that website is fantastic. I have only been surfing for a short time so I thought I would check out your surf school page.
Those videos are incredible. I never realized the history of surfing was so unique.
I only hope more people find your surf school page. GREAT JOB!

Hola! I am new to this forum but as an answer to the question - What Beach is good for kids to learn? I took my big kids to Playa Bruha in the north (take the bus for a few pesos to Cerrados area and stay on the bus till the last stop!).
A cool outdoor restaurant and surf board rentals on the beach. In town there are a few beaches listed as "surf" but they have sharp rocke and are not for learners! Playa Bruha has an undertow and small sharks, nothing to fear-makes for a good adventure!Last edited on Mon Sep 4th, 2006 05:17 pm by beachin

Alaska Airlines is the best because they don't bother to check how many boards you have stuffed inside your bag... Four of us managed to get 6 boards into 2 bags and they charged us for transporting only 2 boards total !!

This was the best surf trip that I've ever had. Allen and Beto run one of the best surf camps in Mexico. I have been to two other Mexico surf camps that were little more than beachside dives... but Mazatlan is a great town to live it up south of the Border, It's so much nicer than surfing Baja. We got long, perfect waves, great video thanks to their video girl, Yaiza. For anyone who has kids or a place where your wife can relax by the pool, and an area that isn't sketchy like other surf camps in Mexico most definitely are. Mazatlan really is the place. I walked right from our room and got their boat on the morning of the big surf. This is an enormous surf boat - around 40 feet. We were shuttled by SUV on the other mornings. There are more points in a small area than you can imagine. These guys have the life. They got some good videos so you can see it for yourself.
Just go to Mexico surf camps http://mexicosurfcamps.com/
