Hi there,
We just stayed at the house next to Emmert International, owned by the same people. WONDERFUL property. Clean, QUIET, friendly. Great deserted beach, none of the Golden Zone crowds. A tip for the taxis, if you are headed back to Emmert, they may not know where it is as the name changed. Tell them the Ammaczatlan, or even "pato blanco" which is the condos a few doors down.
There is an American woman named Lisa at the Emmert, PLEASE tell her Donna from Portland says hi!!

| (Deleted = S/S Spam. You can't advertise yourself, I'm afraid Lisa, however, the above poster has given enough information about your hotel for it to be located via Internet. Hughmac) Last edited on Sun Sep 10th, 2006 09:58 am by

We stayed in a room was quiet that was supposedly newly renovated, with ocean front view . Quite frankly, the entire room expecially the bedroom smelled it had a strong mildewy smell, it also had another odor that my husband thought was the sewage back up system, that is common in 3rd world countries, the kitchen has some strange odor too...it was truly repulsive .
We considered this place substandard, because the towels were tattered, the sheets, blankets and pillows were all old, the furniture was old, some of it broken . the sink creaked. What we thought was a hot tub was a cold kiddy pool, the swimming pool was not clean or heated, we did not go swimming.
We changed hotels and flew out one day early, because I started coming down with something ...respiratory. Now, I've been sick at home for three days, since my return and I'm going to see my doctor today. I can't help wondering if breathing in the mildew, mold spores has comprised my system in some way.
Honestly, the time, energy, cost expenditure, plus loss of wages. In our case, and this point in the game my husband thinks we could of stayed at the Ritz Carlton .

| Sopie,I was wondering what property you stayed at last spring that made you so sick? Was it a Emmert International Property in Mazatlan? Was it the Hotel or private home? Thank you in advance for your information. If anyone else has any info on their properties in Mazatlan, please let me know.

Hi Tommycat,
We stayed in the what they referred to as the condo/hotel, it was considered a newly renovated room. Just so you know the older rooms are a dive.
Upon our arrival it had a strong odor of mildew and/or mold the bed also had mildew smell. The kitchen smelled. It was gross.
One can speculate ... maybe during the remodel it was raining and a lot of damage occurred to the structure and to some of the furniture and perhaps it was not addressed appropriately, in the way that the US or Europe might address it. In Mexico it is apparently considered fit for habitation.
We did hear of a house , that was consider I believe the Penthouse suite that is supposed to be nice, we did not view it since it was occupied.
We actually prefer Cabo San Lucas it is nicer.
I hope that helps.
