I have provided a bottle of the finest (it's a huge bottle)
for us as we toss ideas around.
This is "anything goes" thread.
I'd like to encourage us to just enjoy each other a bit.
So imagine...
We are sitting at a big oak table, and there's a platter of cheese in the center. There is also a bowl of fruit and a basket of bread. We each have at least one glass, but a lot have more. There's ice cold water in a blue pitcher.... there's the bottle of course. Some of us have cups of coffee, half gone. The sun filters through the lace curtains, and we can see the trees outside, just budding in the Spring. A cat sits on the window ledge, dozing. Some of us lean back in our chairs while others sort of hunch forward, elbows on the table... and so.... we talk.... Last edited on Fri Mar 31st, 2006 04:58 am by mb

| Yes, I believe that eventually the world will come to an end. It was not created to last forever - much the same way our bodies don't last forever. It is all renewable to a point, but will eventually come to a point where its purpose has been served. What do YOU think? (pass me the plate of cheese, per favore)

Pass me that cheese, please. And while it comes around the table, here's a question: Who is "God" to ya'll? I don't want to get into a debate, but I'm just wonder who everyone here thinks "God" is. *Munches on cheese with a satisfyingly "cheesy" grin.*

i believe god is goodness itself. God don't care if you are homosexual have tried to kill your self or got blue eyes with blond hair. and i have a feeling that god don't care about Muslims Jews and christians... my idea is that all religions pray for the same god. and i don't know what will happen in the afterlife... but i know that it will be a good surprise
*look around the table , then leave the table and comes back with a bottle of Belgium beer *

Hi there. Glad you brought the beer, and I see you actually broght a case of it to share with the rest of us... And tha ks for sliding the plae of cheese over. I forgot to eat lunch (how could I be so silly?).
Hmm... The question was "Who is God?"
I'm sure you don't mean who as in it, "it's George who lives in the grey house with maroon shutters..." But more like - what is the character of God. Right?? That is a wide question, HanDuet...

Thanks for clarifying! That is a better way of putting it: "What do you believe the character of God is?"
Oh, no beer for me. I'm actually still a minor!

Just touchin in what you said Chance..about the character of God thats also something i've always pondered on, though in the person of Jesus. As a man, did the apostals get a glimse of any persona of any kind, like for example, in the normal sense, some people are not morning people, and, u can gauge how their mood will be if u know them on a very personal level how they may behave when u approach them. But i wonder what kind of person He would have been to talk with, in a conversation manner, u know, like this. I mean, i don't belive that he spent the entire day giving instruction to those closest to him, or even how his relationship was to His Mother. What i mean, is, teaching aside, what kinda guy was Jesus, to know. Stup things like, if he were to be around today, in his teens , and the events were to happen in our age, would he have, been playin soccer with his brethern, in the back yard, when in down time, and ..lol would he have been any good. Nonsense i know, but, just , he must have had some sort of, time to enjoy some little home comforts that come from having friends.Last edited on Tue Apr 11th, 2006 11:36 pm by Gloria in excelsis deo

So... for those who are wandering through once in a while... ponder...
What would it take for us to be able to come to a table together: different faiths, different ethnicities, different cultures, and work together to wage peace? Is it possible for small pockets of individuals to become active in this campaign of peace to make any sort of noticeable impact on others?

I believe that God is everything. Every living thing, everything that exists is part of God. But God is greater than the sum of it's parts.
The way to get along peaceful with each other is to realise that however it seems that others disgree with you, even hurt you, that you are still essentially ONE. Though temporarily seperated in order to be able to experience who we really are.
If you realise that your enemy is in fact also part of you; you realise that hurting another is inevitably hurting yourself.
Now I will take that bottle of "Duchesse de Bourgogne", one of Belgium's most refreshing and delicious beers
Proost!

I would try. There are some insults against Jesus Christ that have been posted on Religion I board that I don't believe I could sit thru. Differences about scripture and beliefs I can handle...flat out abuse of our Father, I would have to excuse myself.
